This expedition promotes the International Climate Symbol. The new symbol, developed jointly by WWF, UNEP, Greenpeace, and with financial support from the Dutch Ministry of the Environment, aims to raise awareness of climate change. Global warming and climate change affects the well-being of people and the survival of nature and wildlife around the world. Despite the known risks, global emissions of greenhouse gases are still on the rise.
The aim of the climate symbol is to act as a common and recognizable thread in all communications concerning climate change. Organizations communicate about climate change from several different perspectives: impacts, causes, and solutions. These fragmented messages do not always reinforce one another and can prevent people from recognizing climate change as the same underlying issue. This project aims to do just that.
