Essent produces electricity and heat in it's own stations for consumers as well as for the business market. Sustainable energy is a essential element in the company's portfolio. In 2001 the WWF Netherlands and Essent decided to work together closely. The aim is to develop and market new products that contribute to sustainable power and energy consumption. The public's awareness of Climate Change issues is a condition to succeed in doing so.

Participating together with the WWF Netherlands in the Pole Track expedition, is one of the ways of showing the public where the cooperation is about. The expedition also provides a platform to show existing and new customers why it is the right choice to choose for sustainable energy. Being the largest producer of sustainable energy in The Netherlands, Essent is constantly seeking to expand its production capacity, also in Belgium and Germany, the other countries where Essent is active.
