Denkmanufaktur

The German based company Denkmanufaktur is a pioneering manufacturer of scientific instrumentation for polar and marine research. Together with the expedition they are developing a new lightweight beacon which is easy to deploy and sends meteorological and positioning data over a period of approximately one year.

Denkmanufaktur gmbh was established on 15.11.2001. The partners Marcel Kruse and Hartwig Wilke are two highly motivated specialists distinguished by creativity, competence and a high measured sense of responsibility. They started supporting this expedition with basic research and design proposals long before there was any guarantee of departure. Denkmanufaktur's efforts are invaluable as they add the necessary element of technological innovation which is needed to create the new instrument, so important to the mission of the expedition.

The name Denkmanufaktur describes both the structure and the function of the enterprise. The term "denk" (to think) stands for the enginering-scientific component in the form of know-how and creativity. The term "manufaktur" (to manufacture) underlines the element of crafts that play a role in creating products in small series.
